A Fountain of Wishes at Newport Nursing
Celebrating the success and progress patients have made while working with the nursing and rehab teams, Newport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center kicked off its "Fountain of Wishes" program.
Using specially minted coins, patients being discharged from the facility toss a coin into the Newport Nursing fountain to celebrate their recovery at Newport.
"We are proud of the effort our patients put into their recovery process," notes Administrator John Mastrocola. "This is a fun way to celebrate their success."
Awards and Recognition
Administrator John Mastrocola was recognized as Volunteer of the Year 2011 by the American Diabetes Association. John has volunteered for the organization for more than 10 years and was honored as a Father of the Year in 2010.
He currently serves on the Community Leadership Board where he has been instrumental in guiding the growth of the Orange County, California ADA. In 2010 he was the top fundraiser for Orange County and in the top 10 nationwide for the American Diabetes Association. John also chairs the Step Out for Diabetes Walk held at Knott's Berry Farm. Although he is not personally affected by the disease, he sees the harm the disease causes every day in his position as Regional Administrator for Generations Healthcare. He is a true champion for those affected by this disease.
