Thomas Olds Jr.
CEO/Founder
Mr. Olds has been involved in the Long Term Care industry for over 20 years. In 1989 Mr. Olds joined a small LTC start up named GranCare. Mr. Olds became a key member of the acquisition and operations team and became intimately involved in its growth from just a few hundred beds to over ten thousand beds and a place on the NYSE. In 1994 Mr. Olds became a founding partner of Covenant Care, Inc., a California based LTC company. While with Covenant Care Mr. Olds was principally responsible for key components of both business development and operations. During his tenure with Covenant Care Mr. Olds directed the acquisition of more than 30 skilled nursing facilities, four pharmacies and a therapy company. Additionally, he led the building of the corporate infrastructure with both management and information systems.
Lois Mastrocola
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Mastrocola has over 20 years experience in healthcare finance. Ms. Mastrocola worked with an international public accounting firm for three years, servicing both acute and long term care clients. While working in the CPA firm, Ms. Mastrocola served as a financial and reimbursement consultant to Regency Health Services (RHS), a startup long term care company. Later Ms. Mastrocola joined RHS to serve as the Reimbursement Manager taking them through their public offering and subsequent growth from 21 facilities to over 100 facilities, later acquired by Sun Healthcare Group. Following her departure from RHS, Ms. Mastrocola joined Covenant Care, Inc. as Director of Reimbursement. Ms. Mastrocola made valuable contributions to Covenant Care’s growth from startup to over 40 facilities. She departed to join KPMG LLP and assist their efforts to develop their Western Region Long-Term care consulting practice. Ms. Mastrocola graduated from Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and minors in Accounting and Economics.
Steve Black
Director of Operations
Mr. Black has over 12 years experience in the Long Term Care industry. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Administration from Central Michigan University. Before coming to Generations Healthcare he received extensive training at both Villa and Magnolia Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers. Mr. Black began working for Generations Healthcare in 1998 at Vista Manor Nursing Center where he was the administrator for six years. In 2001, Mr. Black was made the Senior Administrator for the Northern California region and as such he was instrumental in transitioning newly acquired facilities and training several AITs who currently are Generations Healthcare administrators.
Carol Gerken
Director of Clinical Services
Ms. Gerken has been Director of Quality Services and Director of Nursing in both skilled nursing facilities and home health care agencies. Ms. Gerken was previously Director of Quality Nursing at Covenant Care, Inc. where she oversaw nursing operations for over 30 facilities. Ms. Gerken’s knowledge of senior care and nursing is unparalleled in the industry. Prior to her position at Covenant Care, Ms. Gerken served as Director of Clinical Services for Reimbursement at GranCare, Inc. Ms. Gerken has over 40 years experience as an RN, including over 22 years experience in long-term care.
Nadine Heideman
Director of Rehab Services
Ms. Heideman brings over 35 years experience in Occupational Therapy and Therapy Management to Generations Healthcare. After working at Cedars-Sinai Hospital as the Supervising Therapist, Ms. Heideman recognized the need for full therapy services to be provided to TCUs, Acute and Long Term Care hospitals and founded Select Therapies (originally Nadine Heideman Therapy Services.) With the unique concept of one company providing all therapy services to hospitals, Select Therapies provided services to many Southern California companies including Beverly Manor, GranCare, Summit Health, and Covenant Care. Ms. Heideman remained CEO of Select Therapies after being purchased by Covenant Care and transitioned all their facilities to in-house therapy services. She is presently the Director of Rehab Services for TheraGen, the therapy component of Generations Healthcare.
Merry Rogers
Director of Human Resources
Ms. Rogers is a senior human resources professional with more than 25 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles for large organizations within both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. She previously spent several years in a variety of executive human resources positions throughout the St. Joseph Health System, one of the largest Catholic healthcare systems in the western United States. Ms. Rogers has a Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Sciences from Cal State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is a past member of Toastmasters International, served on the Board of Directors of the North Orange County YWCA and Chino Valley YWCA, and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Let it Be Foundation. She is an author of articles on employee satisfaction and employment effectiveness.
Julie Farley
Controller
Ms. Farley has over 30 years experience in financial accounting. At Newport Leasing, Ms. Farley held the position of Controller and oversaw all aspects of the accounting department, overseeing staff and insuring that financial reports were accurate and prepared in a timely manner. Prior to Newport Leasing, Inc., Ms. Farley was at Covenant Care, Inc. and responsible for the analysis and preparation of monthly financial statements. Ms. Farley previously held a similar position at Matria Healthcare.
