FAQs
What to expect as an employee of Generations Healthcare
What can I expect as a new hire?
Because we value each and every employee in our organization and strive to create a work environment where you can do what you do best, every day, we recognize that a good start creates the foundation for you to be able to do that best work. Here's a preview of what you can expect in your first several weeks.
- A heartfelt welcome on your first day.
- Dedicated orientation time to be introduced to the company Mission, the work of our caregivers, policies and processes, safety, benefits, and other information critical to your success.
- Tour of your facility and introduction to your co-workers.
- Opportunity to meet with many fellow employees to hear about their roles, key projects, ask questions, and learn of the traditions of our organization.
- Invitations to department meetings and employee functions.
- Informal check-ins with your hiring manager as you adjust to your new job.
- Ongoing open door to management and other staff to answer your questions.
How can I make suggestions and have my concerns addressed?
We want to be sure there is always a way for you to be able to voice your thoughts and ideas. Therefore we have a number of ways to make sure you are heard. We hold regular department meetings, all-staff meetings and informal gatherings with employees. In addition, an employee survey is administered at least one time per year, with the results shared with staff and action plans built with staff input. And there is consistently an open door to your direct supervisor and the facility administrator.
What types of employee rewards/recognition are there?
We have many programs in place to say thank you. For maintaining a safe workplace, we have "on the spot" financial recognition. During department meetings and all-staff meetings, service awards are given as well as special recognition for exceptional customer services and other notable results. The highest level of recognition is the Presidential Caring for a Lifetime award, given annually in each facility to the employee who has truly personified the Mission of Generations Healthcare.
